04/03/2013 Alejandra Salinas and Aeron Bergman: Between Us We Forgot the World
Alejandra Salinas (b. 1977) and Aeron Bergman (b. 1971) are an artist duo based in Oslo. The duo, of more than 15 years, has been producing media, internet, sound and sculptural works. Their projects are interdisciplinary, conceptual and socially engaged and among others include nobelprize.no, a curatorial project, and INCA, an artist-run space and residency in Detroit, USA. In this lecture, Bergman and Salinas will share their experience working together and address issues of being an artist duo. In addition, they will present recent works mostly based on economic abstraction.
Salinas and Bergman have exhibited at institutions including Eastside Projects (Birmingham), IMO (Copenhagen), CCA (Glasgow), Serralves Museum (Porto), ICC (Tokyo), Taipei Fine Arts Museum (Taipei), DAC (NYC), Röda Sten (Gothenberg), Centre George Pompidou (Paris), 0047 (Oslo), Kunstnernes Hus (Oslo), and Henie Onstad Art Center (Oslo). Screenings and performances include the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center (NY), e-Flux (Berlin), Dundee Contemporary Arts (Dundee), MOCAD (Detroit), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Van Abbemuseum (Eindhoven), Overgaden (Copenhagen), the Knitting Factory (NY), and MUDAM (Luxembourg). Awards and radio commissions including Prix Ars Electronica (Linz), WDR (West German Radio), and Swedish National Radio. Bergman currently teaches at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
