Art walks in the face of reality

Božidar Mandić (b. 1952) is a writer and dramaturg, and as a way to exit from contemporary crisis in society and culture, has founded an ecological art commune, Family of Clear Streams. He has been living in the woods for 36 years and describes the commune as “a small island that fights for survival.” In Mandic’s practice, living in the commune in itself is a vital and creative opus. His books, plays, and exhibitions are devoted to the protection of streams, mountains, and forests and consider humanism, authenticity, and responsibility. Family of Clear Streams is located in the foothills of Mount Rudnik, Brezovica, Serbia. Program includes a concerto for two wooden percussions and screening of “Rub Rail.”
