Saskia Holmkvist has been invited by Open Forum to talk about her work in addressing the relation between the speaker and the audience. She will speak of her work, often involving performative strategies to enable new settings in which the politics of professionalized language can unfold.
Saskia Holmkvist was appointed as a Professor in the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, starting August 2014. Her work comprises performance, site-specific projects and film/video in an on going exploration into questions of the professionalization of language and concerns of translatability. Different positions have been central such as the interviewer, the mentor or the guide in relation to language, body and culture. By shaping performative contexts together with professionals from various fields of expertise, a new discourse and narrative process is produced by means of improvisation, interviews and performance.
